These are Top Bar Hives (TBH). As you can see they are different from the traditional Langstroth Hives. Both types of hives have their advantages and disadvantages. One of the great advantages of the TBH is that they are VERY affordable to build (which is one of the top reasons we decided to try them out).
Each of these hives will be getting their own colony of honeybees this Saturday, April 30th.
